     William married Deborah Burt on April 19, 1744 in Castleton, Dorset, England.3 Lloyd's List from the London newspaper listed William as owner of the vessel "John/Mary" from London.1 Great Britian Admirality and Secretariat Vol. 7, #87 states that the "John/Mary" with Capt. Cole was departing Poole, England bound for Newfoundland and then the Mediterranean.1 London Times' Lloyd's List states that the ship "John/Mary" was bound from Poole to Newfoundland.1 The "John/Mary" arrived in Poole from Newfoundland. according to Lloyd's List.1 The Great Britian Admirality and Secretariat Vol. 7 # 370 lists the "John/Mary" owned by William Slade as a 100 ton vessel registered in Poole.1
     William married Elizabeth Tabb on May 30, 1755 in Wareham Parish, Dorset, England.4,5 William Slade died on February 17, 1792 in Poole, Dorset.1
