James Slade was born circa 1722 in Poole or Wareham, Dorset, England.1 He was the son of John Slade and Anne Sergaent.1
James married Mary Card on August 12, 1750 in Holy Trinity, Wareham Parish, Dorset, England.2 His wife was found dead in bed in Wareham.1 Mr. Lester, next door neighbor of his brother John, sold him a sow and 8 pigs at Lychett Minster.1 James Slade was Mayor of the Borough of Wareham in Dorset County and Coroner for the Borough and Island of Purbeck. He was also known as a "maltster and brewer" in 1774.3,4 He died on March 23, 1780 in Wareham Parish, Dorset, England.5
