     Chiswell Slade Esquire was born circa 1717 in Rye, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of John Slade and Mary Chiswell.2,3 Subscribed to "A practical exposition of the Acts of the Apostiles (Vol. 2), 1747, GUYSE, John. London; 1726-1750.4
     Chiswell married Jane Davis on March 30, 1749 in Rye, Sussex.1 Chiswell Slade Esquire was Chiswell was the mayor of Rye and was elected 26 times. in 1764.5 He died on January 25, 17876 and was buried in St. Mary the Virgin Churchyard, Rye, Sussex, England.7 His memorial is in the nave of the church.8
