     Chiswell married Sarah Wood on September 25, 1810 in Dallinghoo, Suffolk, England.1,3 Chiswell Slade enlisted on May 13, 1815 in Bristol, England, enlisted for life with the 55th Foot Soldiers. He was 5' tall with a fresh complexion, grey eyes, light hair, and an oval face shape. Prior to enlisting, he was a farmer.4 Deserted the 55th Foot.5 He died on February 11, 1847 in Rye, Sussex, England.6
