Thomas Caple Slade1

     Thomas Caple Slade was born on April 1, 1852 in Dinedor, Herfordshire, England, Father is Wm Slade, mother is Ann Hodgins.1 He was the son of William Slade and Anne Hodgins.2
     Thomas married Jane Arms on June 26, 1882 in Christ Church, Albany Street, Camden (a borough of London), Middlesex, England.3,4 Thomaswas living at The Barracks, Albany St. at the time of his marriage. His father is listed as William Slade, farmer. Jane's father is John Arms, Coachman.4 Re Thomas and Jane, his bride of one week, departed Liverpool, England aboard the Parisian on 4 Jul 1882. After a brief stop in Londonderry, Ireland, they webound for adventures in Canada!5 He immigrated fromEngland to Québec, Québec, Canada, on July 4, 1882aboard the Parisian out of Liverpool.6 Thomas was listed in the Ottawa Ciity Directory as living at 11 Cathcart Sq, and as a Sergeant in the Dominion Police from 1883-1896. (The Dominion Police were one of the predecessors of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.)7
     Thomas married Annie M. Smith on April 22, 1909 in Carleton, Ontario, Canada.8 Thomas Caple Slade was retired from Royal Canadian Mounted Police.9
He died on October 27, 1934 at age 82.10,1 He was buried in Beechwood National Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.1
