Henry Hercules Slade1

     Henry Hercules Slade was born in 1799 in England.1 He was the son of Hercules Wybourn James Slade and Mary Gregory.2 As the Resident Magistrate of County Leitrim, Hercules was advising the govertment as to the extent of potato loss and distress in Ireland and to oversee the storage and distribution of Indian corn and meal to direct, support and coordinate activities of local relief committees.3 In 1857, he was renting property from Right Hon. John Wynne in Ireland, County Leitrim; Barony Rosclogher; Union Manorhamilton; Parish Killasnet; Townland Barrackpark; Place Name: Village of Lurganboy.4 Henry Hercules Slade was the Resident Magistrate, County Leitrim in 1862 in Lurganboy, Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, Ireland.5 He died in 1878 in Bath, Somersetshire, England.1,6
