Slade was baptized on November 29, 1885 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.1 He immigrated from aboard the Bruce to North Sydney, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, Canada, in May, 1908.2
     Philip married Josephine Noftle on December 21, 1911 in Perry's Cove, Newfoundland.3,4 Philip H. Slade died on March 22, 1962 at age 765 and was buried in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.5
