     Walter N. Slade was born circa 1931 in Perrys Cove, Newfoundland, Canada.1 He was the son of Elijah Slade and Martha [?].2 Walter N. Slade died in 1944 Walter is honoured on the Halifax Memorial built in everlasting memory of the 3,267 Canadian and Newfoundland sailor and solidiers lost in WWi and WWII. His name is included on Plaque No. 19, Canadian Merchant Navy.3
