     Douglas married first Emma Jane Parsons on March 5, 1914 in Otterbury, Newfoundland,3, the daughter of John & Annie Parsons.4
     Douglas married second Elizabeth A. Parsons on May 24, 1921 in Victoria, Newfoundland.5,6 Douglas Slade was a miner.7 He died in 19598 and was buried in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.8
