     Alice married Arthur Burgett Slade, son of Elmer Stillman Slade and Carolyn Lavinia Smith, circa 1914.1 Alice died in 1969.3 She was buried in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey.3

     Raymond Edward Slade was born on November 15, 1892 in Witherbee, Essex County, New York.1,2 He was the son of Edward John Slade and Mary Alice Downing.1 Raymond Edward Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Essex County, New York.2
     Raymond married Iona Wright, daughter of Orvin D. Wright and Ellen [?].3 Raymond died on December 11, 1957 at age 65.4 He was buried in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Genesee County, Michigan.4

     Janet Barton was born on October 2, 1919.1
     Janet married Daniel Frazer Slade, son of Harry Ellsworth Slade and Mary Jane Fraser.1 Janet died on July 18, 2001 at age 81.1 She was buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Essex County, Massachusetts.1

Daniel B. Slade1

(1 April 1945 - 14 March 2015)
     Daniel B. Slade was born on April 1, 1945 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Daniel Frazer Slade and Janet Barton.1
     Daniel married Donna J. DeSousa on September 22, 1973 in Essex County, Massachusetts.1 Daniel died on March 14, 2015 at age 69.1 He was buried in New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.1 His obituary read as follows:

      IPSWICH: Daniel B. Slade, 69, husband of Donna J. (DeSousa) Slade, died Saturday morning, March 14, 2015, in Beverly Hospital, after a short illness. Born in Ipswich on April 1, 1945, he was the son of the late Daniel F. and Janet (Barton) Slade.
Dan was raised in Manchester, and had been a resident for 43 years. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1963. He later graduated R.I.T. in New York in 1969. Upon graduating from R.I.T., he went straight to Cricket Press in Manchester. Later, he would become Editor of the Manchester Cricket, where he would be employed until retiring in 2005, a career of 36 years.

Dan and his wife, Donna, were married on September 22, 1973, in St. John’ Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms. During high school, he was an Explorer Scout, later he would be a Boy Scout Leader in Manchester for many years. He was also a Little League coach, and later, a Pony League coach in Manchester. Dan started the Sons of the American Legion, which was part of the Amaral Bailey Post# 113 in Manchester. He was very active in the Manchester Club for several years. Dan was a police photographer for the Manchester Police Department. He served on the 4th of July Parade Committee for many years in Manchester. Dan would become a Mason in 1997, and was a very active member of the John T. Heard Masonic Lodge in Ipswich. He was a member of the Lions Club in Manchester. An avid hunter, he enjoyed spending time at his camp in Maine. He also loved skiing, fishing and playing hockey.

Dan is survived by, in addition to his wife, Donna, of Ipswich, his son, Daniel D. Slade of Ipswich. He is also survived by his sister, his brother and their spouses, Joan and David Desgroseilliers of Sanborton, N.H., David W. and Patricia Slade of Manchester; his one nephew and four nieces, Marc Desgroseilliers, Andrea Sennnott, Lorin Buksa, Catherine Dorrington, and Brittany Slade. He is also survived by 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 21st, at 11 a.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 705 Hale St., Beverly Farms. Burial will follow in

New Highland Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Rd., Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Friday, March 20th, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
