     Thomas Slade was born on November 22, 1922 in Beaufort County, North Carolina.^1,2 He was the son of Guilford Franklin Slade and Maud Rose.¹
     Thomas married Virginia [?].³ Thomas died on October 14, 1992 in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, at age 69.²

     Thomas Nelson Slade was born on October 28, 1952 in Norfolk City, Norfolk County, Virginia.¹ He was the son of George Walton Slade and Mary Alice Twillie.²
     Thomas married Gayla G. Knox.³ Thomas died on October 3, 2008 in Norfolk City, Virginia, at age 55.⁴ His obituary read as follows:

      Thomas Nelson Slade, 55, passed away Oct. 3, 2008, at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. A native of Norfolk County, Virginia, Mr. Slade was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired after 31 years of service with the Norfolk Fire Department and was a member of Kempsville Church Of Christ. Survivors include his loving wife, Gayla R. Slade; son, David Slade; daughter, Trisha Slade, all of Norfolk; four brothers, Percy Slade of Pinehurst, N.C., George Slade of Norfolk, James Slade of Currituck County, North Carolina, and Kenneth Slade of Norfolk; and a sister, Alice Whitehead of Florida. A celebration of Mr. Slade's life will be held Monday at 6 p.m. in Kempsville Church Of Christ by the Rev. Randy Childress. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.³

     Wilber C. Slade was born on May 11, 1913 in Beaufort County, North Carolina.¹ He was the son of Charles Alexander Slade and Dora Mabel Allen.¹ Wilber died on November 27, 1914 at age 1.¹

     Mary married George Walton Slade, son of George Josephus Slade and Lillie Veston Crank, on August 5, 1942 in Camden County, North Carolina.³ Mary died on December 10, 1986 at age 63.⁴ She was buried in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia.⁴

     William Charleston Braswell was born on November 22, 1874 in North Carolina.¹
     William married Maggie Emily Slade, daughter of Joseph Oliver Slade Jr. and Laura Ann Parker, on December 28, 1896 in Northampton County, North Carolina.² William Charleston Braswell was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1917 in Silver City, Chatham County, North Carolina.³ William died on January 22, 1952 at age 77⁴ and was buried in Rives Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Siler City, Chatham County, North Carolina.

     Josephine Cobb Drake was born on February 16, 1890 in Murfreesboro, Hertford County, North Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of John C. Drake and Roberta Cobb.^1,2
     Josephine married Walter Anderson Slade, son of Joseph Oliver Slade Jr. and Laura Ann Parker, circa 1907.³ Josephine died on October 16, 1950 in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, at age 60.^1,4,2 She was buried in Britton Cemetery, Rich Square, Northampton County, North Carolina.⁴

     William married Hattie L. Slade, daughter of Joseph Oliver Slade Jr. and Laura Ann Parker, circa 1912.² William died on June 4, 1943 at age 67.¹ He was buried in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, Halifax County, North Carolina.^1,3

     Frances married Joseph Slade on December 23, 1847 in North Carolina.¹ Frances likely died circa 1955 in North Carolina possibly in childbirth.
