Henry Slade Jr

(1672 - 1720)
     Henry Slade Jr was born in 1672 in Albermarle Co., North Carolina.1,2 He was the son of Henry Slade and Hannah Loveridge. A grant was made to a Henry Slade in Norfolk County, Virginia on March 16, 1693 for importing six individuals: John, Joseph, Benjamin, Samuel, Hannah and William Slades. Since Henry Slade, Sr. was in Albermarle by 1669 and in Currituck by 1677 and since Henry Slade, Jr. wills "my plantation in Virginia, Norfolk Co.", to his eldest son William, it is probable that the grantee was Henry Slade, Jr. and the headrights listed were his siblings, children of Henry, Sr.3 On April 29, 1693, Henry Slade, Jr. received a grant for 330 acres on the N. Et. side of the N. Wt. river, beg.g &c. on the North East side of the marshes of the N. Wt. river.4
     Henry married Abigail Jesper, daughter of Richard Jasper. Henry was a witness to the Last Will and Testament of William Howson, Beauford Co.5 Henry Slade Jr left a will on January 5, 1718;

Will of Henry Slade, Junr Parish of Hyde, Oct 27, 1718

Eldest Son William: I give my plantation in Virginia lying on the head of lower Indian Creek joining to the land of James Warden in the County of Norfolk with all its appurtenances whatsoever, to him, his Heirs or Assigns forever; I give him three hundred eighty and three acres of Land adjoining the Mannor plantation whereon I now live with all its appurtenances when he is of age, and to his heirs and assigns forever. Daughter Dorcas: I give one Feather Bead and furniture, to be delivered unto her on the day of her Marriage. Wife Abigal: I give the one just and equal half of my mannor Plantation with the House enduring all the days of her Natural life, and the other half to my Son John when of age, and after the decease of my wife the whole Plantation I Give to Son John, to him his heirs and assigns for ever, and till he come of age the whole plantation to be in the hands of his Mother. Wife to divide the rest of my Estate to my Children and hers as they come of age, but if my wife do again Marry my Estate be forthwith divided, one half to my wife and the other half to my Children. William Slade

(circa 1699 - 1766)
     William Slade was born circa 1699 in Hyde County, North Carolina, he was still under age at the time of his father's will.1,2 He was the son of Henry Slade Jr and Abigail Jesper. William Slade was (an unknown value) in 1718 in Indian Creek, Norfolk County, Virginia.1 His father's 1718 will gave him the plantation on Indian Creek, Norfolk County, Virginia adjoining the land of James Warden and 383 acres adjoining the Manor plantaion "whereon I now live" when of age.1
     William married Lydia Windly say 1720 in North Carolina.3 William died in 1766 in Tyrell Co., North Carolina.3

     Henry John Slade was born before 1718 in Hyde County, North Carolina.1,2 He was the son of Henry Slade Jr and Abigail Jesper.
     Henry married Mary Worley on April 1, 1750 in Tyrell Co, North Carolina, Bond # 000150395.3,4
     Henry married Ann Gray say 1755.3 Henry died on February 20, 1766 in North Carolina.5 His estate was probated in 1766.5

Hannah Slade

     Hannah Slade was born say 1678 in North Carolina.1,2 She was the daughter of Henry Slade and Hannah Loveridge. Hannah was likely one of the headrights of Henry Slade, Jr. in Virginia in 1693.3
     Hannah married Richard Jespers say 1696.4 Hannah Slade apparently died before circa 1716 because her husband Richard Jasper had remarried Keziah by April 29, 1717.5

Hannah Loveridge

(circa 1652 - before 1721)
     Hannah Loveridge was born circa 1652 in Dorset, England, the daughter of Temerance and William Loverage.1,2,3 She was the daughter of William Loveridge. Hannah Loveridge married Henry Slade circa 1663 in Dorset, England. Hannah was the daughterr of William Loverige Sen. and Temporance his wife.4,2 Married in England, settled in Currituck Co., NC about 17 Jun 1677 and then on the Pango River at Slade's Creek about 1700.5 Hannah died before 1721 in Sladesville, Hyde, North Carolina.6
