     William Slade was born in 1678 in Poole, Dorset, England.1 He was the son of David Slade and Deborah [?].1 William died on August 12, 1719 in Poole.1 His estate was probated on May 4, 1720 in Poole; He left the children of his brother John each 6 pounds sterling when they reached the age of 4 and twenty years. The remainder of his estate he left to Henry Tuck and family, including lands in Lulworth.2

     Johnnie Irwin "Sonny" Slade was born on April 29, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.1 He was the son of John F. Slade . and Verniece [?].1 Johnnie died on August 12, 2022 in Middletown, Conneticut, at age 78.1 His obituary read as follows:

Johnnie Irwin "Sonny" Slade
Johnnie Irwin Slade ("Sonny"), 78, transitioned from this life peacefully on August 12, 2022. He was born on April 29, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Verneice and John F. Slade. Sonny grew up in Hampton, VA, before relocating to Middletown, CT. He worked for the Santoro Construction Company for over 25 years. He opened "Sonny's Auto Shop," over 40 years ago – which is well known to the community of Middletown to this day.
Sonny was predeceased by his brothers, David Slade and Lloyd Slade; sisters, Mary, Deborah, and Joyce; son, Sonny Jamaa Slade; and great-grandson, Trevon Barnes, Jr.
To cherish his memory Sonny leaves his wife since 2002, Lorraine Geraldine Slade; brothers, Aaron "Beanie" Slade and Keith Slade; sisters, Brenda Pace, Sandra Davis, and Sybil (Willie) Long; stepsister, Evelyn Smith; daughters, Dr. Amelia (Robert) Scott, Cynthia (Peter) Daye, Deborah Francis, Betty "Bam" Leary, Demetria Leary, Charmaine Lane, Sandra Slade, Laverne Slade, and Shantee Grace; sons, Johnny (Valerie) Leary, Derrick Slade, and Erric Grace; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family members and friends.1
He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown, Conneticut.1
