William Harrison Slade

b. 14 September 1840, d. 20 August 1901
     William Harrison Slade was born on September 14, 1840 in Lifsey Springs, Pike County, Georgia.1,2 He was the son of Simon Slade and Matilda Rickerson.
     William married Prudence Emily Brooks, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Brooks and Emily Prudence Story, on November 29, 1860 in Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia.3      William bought 50 acres, lot #27, 9th District, Pike County, Georgia from his brother, James Madison Slade, on December 15, 1870 and deeded 50 acres of lot #5-9d to John Lifsey that same year.4 He died on August 20, 1901 in Zebulon, Georgia, at age 60.1,2 He was buried in Midway UM Church Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, GeorgiaG.2
