William Joseph Slade

b. 17 February 1879, d. 7 August 1950
     William Joseph Slade was born on February 17, 1879 in Northampton County, North Carolina.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Oliver Slade Jr. and Laura Ann Parker.1
     William married Mary Bathaby Peele, daughter of William Daniel Peele and Martha Anne Spivey, on March 7, 1900 in North Carolina.3 He was listed as Willie Joseph on his WW1 Draft Registration Card. He was registered in the draft for World War I on September 12, 1918 in Rich Square, Northampton County, North Carolina.4 He died on August 7, 1950 in Rich Square, North Carolina, at age 71.5 He was buried in Barnes Cemetery, near Lasker, Northampton County, North Carolina.5
