Paul Addison Slade1

     Paul Addison Slade was born on May 8, 1911 in Roanoke Rapids, Halifax County, North Carolina.2,1 He was the son of Walter Anderson Slade and Josephine Cobb Drake.3 He enlisted in the US Army on September 23, 1935.2
     Paul married Sara J. Voyles, daughter of Alford Doris Voyles and Eliza Jane Trantham.1 Paul was discharged from the US Army Nov 13, 1945 and then later that same month on Nov 29, re-enlisted for a tour with the Army Corps of Engineers in Hawaii.1
Paul retired from the military on Feb 28, 1957.2 He died on July 15, 1980 at age 69.2 He was buried in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort County, South CarolinaG.4
