Charles Simon Slade

b. 27 June 1883, d. 12 February 1968
     Charles Simon Slade was known as Charlie.1 He was born on June 27, 1883 in Pike County, Georgia.2 He was the son of Samuel Simon Slade and Martha Ann Storey.
     Charles married Ophelia Selena Adams, daughter of Ruben Jackson Adams and Alice Eugenia Ann Caroline Lifsey, on December 14, 1904 in Georgia.3 He was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, At age 35, Charlie was medium heighth and build with light brown eyes and black hair. He was the State Cattle Inspector.2 He died on February 12, 1968 at age 844 and was buried in Fincher Memorial Cemetery, Meansville, Pike County, GeorgiaG.5
