Effie Lillie Slade

b. 1 November 1881, d. 12 December 1976
     Effie Lillie Slade was born on November 1, 1881 in Meansville, Pike County, Georgia.1 She was the daughter of Samuel Simon Slade and Martha Ann Storey.
     Effie married William Franklin Reeves on December 17, 1903.2 The Pike County Times ran this notice: Mr. Walter Reeves, of Upson county and Miss Effie Slade, of Lifsey, were married Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Slade, Rev. C.V. Weathers performing the ceremony. Their numerous friends extend best wishes.2 She died on December 12, 1976 at age 95.3 She was buried in Fincher Memorial Cemetery, Meansville, Pike County, GeorgiaG.4
