     Oscar Elmer Slade was born on May 20, 1892 in Poplarville, Pearl River County, Mississippi.1 He was the son of Rodolphus Slade and Minnie Melissa Bounds. Oscar Elmer Slade was registered in the draft for World War I on June 5, 1917 in Epley, Lamar County, Mississippi, medium heighth and build, dark brown eyes and black hair. He worked for a saw mill company in Epley, Mississippi.2
     Oscar married Eunice Starr, daughter of Henry Starr and Jane [?], circa 1924. Oscar Elmer Slade died in April, 1971 in Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, at age 78.3
